Spreading the Word: Claim Your Blog on Technorati

Technorati is a blog directory that searches and archives your blog, making your blog and its contents easy to find.

Simply create an account at Technorati and begin the process of “claiming” your blog(s) by entering each blog’s URL, a short description, and keyword “tags.” Within a few days, you should receive a “Claim Token” that Technorati asks you to publish in a short blog post, like this one.

Here’s an example of what a Technorati “Claim Token” might look like, that you must include on your blog to verify and complete your “claim.”:

Visit Technorati and search for “BusinessMarketingSuccessStrategies.com” and you’ll see an example of how this invaluable service makes your blog / Web site content available to others.

Do You Have a Technorati Story?

Have you claimed one or more blogs on Technorati? What results have you experienced by having your blog listed with that service? Let me and others know by leaving a comment. Questions are always welcome, too.

Update: Within a couple days of “claiming” this blog, Technorati sent out it’s spider and recognized the blog as having been legitimately claimed, then posted this notice in the account: “We have successfully crawled your blog and found the claim token, and your claim is now awaiting review.”

As of Monday, December 7th, 2009, this blog has yet to be approved. Patience is a virtue.

I’ll post another “reply” to this post to indicate how long it takes Technorati to review and give final approval.

I claimed my blog nov 24th and still waiting?

    Mark,

Indeed, I’ve continued to check the “claim on this blog with Technorati, and as of today (December 16, 2009) the notation still reads:

“Nov 24, 2009. We have successfully crawled your blog and found the claim token, and your claim is now awaiting review.”

It seems that the number of blogs is expanding so quickly that Technorati can’t keep up with it’s confirmation process.

    Ephman,

Thank you! What a great question!

Your comment about Technorati prompted me to write a whole article on this topic, which is actually about using multiple means of promoting your blog or Web site so it gets noticed and visited.

    Read it here.
